Put a rail tunnel back on track
A Crain's article here on Christie killing the ARC project. Stories on this matter will appear for a while but this is a decent story, I agree with this line:
"Projects like these might seem to be unaffordable luxuries in a time of economic uncertainty and dwindling government resources, but they are necessities if the metropolitan area is to maintain its status as an economic powerhouse and New York is to remain a leading international city."
NYC and the Northeast corridor will grow over time, no doubt, and having only one tunnel under the Hudson just won't be enough to cope with travel demand into NYC and the demand to get between all cities along the NEC.
