NJ Transit, Amtrak disagree over who's to blame for delays

The implication in this story is that Amtrak gives preference for Amtrak trains over NJT trains along the NEC tracks which Amtrak owns. What can I say, this is good for Amtrak commuters, so way to go Amtrak.

  • Hi there.

I am starting a new position in NYC this week and am ironing out all the commute issues. Your site has been pretty helpful and I am interested in trading some more tips and ideas on how to keep the costs down and wher ethe deals are to be found. Is there a forum that people are sharing this info on? Do you have any additional tips or tricks. Parking? Times etc etc?
    Thanks
    Mike

  • I've been reading your blog for a while, and I thought you might like the non-profit I work for. Recently, I joined a non-profit citizens organization called Citizens for Rail Safety. They commission studies from colleges and universities on topics related to safety and security of our nation’s rails. Some of the statistics that I have come across during my time there are very disturbing. Most recently they did a very informative study on the need for HAZMAT training for our rail workers. I always like to hear from other people who are concerned about the state of our nation’s railways. Check out our web site at www.citizensforrailsafety.org. We are one of the only truly independent citizen-based groups that are concerned with our rails.
