I did see that Amtrak opened these rail passes to US citizens. The 30 day East Rail Pass at $459.00 Peak is less than half the cost of a monthly unlimited between Philly-NYC!
I'll post this, there looks to be no catch as far I can tell...
I was a regular Amtrak commuter between Philadelphia (30th Street Station) and New York City (Penn Station). I created this blog to track on time performance between stops and to post topics of interest to the Philly-NYC commuter. Since my situation has changed the blog topics have changed as well but I'll share my thoughts about Amtrak, general comments on commuting to NYC, financially making such a commute work, as well as Philly-NYC commuting alternatives.

is this a cheaper solution for philly-NYC commuters...or am i missing some catch?
