COMMUTE: Mon Jan 23, 2006; #130 (on time) and #193 (on time)

My commute for Monday January 23, 2006.

Morning - I took Amtrak Train #130 (PHL-NYC):
  • PHL 8:22, 0
  • TRE 8:48, 0
  • NWK 9:33, +6
  • NYC 9:50, +5
Seat next to me was empty, but the train was nearly full.

Evening leg - took Amtrak Train #193 (NYC-PHL):
  • NYC 5:41, +2
  • NWK 5:59, +3
  • TRE (this train doesn't stop in Trenton)
  • PHL 7:02, +4
Seat next to me was taken, train was full, standing room only said the conductors though I did not see anybody standing.

  • Did you go to NYC on Friday 1/20/06? Some good delays for many of the morning and afternoon trains (signal problems in the morning, stalled train new NYP in the afternoon).

  • No, I did not commute into the city on Friday. And a good thing too, my colleagues told me of huge delays. I did read stories of the Amtrak signal problem and the stalled Amtrak train, tough day for getting in and out of NYC.
