This has been a consistent story I've been hearing about. Not sure if a strike will actually come down but the talk implies that a strike in 2006 is much more likely to happen when compared to the past few years. The article notes that an Amtrak strike would also shut down NJ Transit.
It appears that the earliest a strike could possibly happen is mid-February 2006 due to mandatory cooling off periods.
